Zuljana
Zuljana is a little village and port, located at the bottom of a tranquil bay on the southern shore of Peljesac , 24 km northwest of Ston . One of the most beautiful and longest beaches on the Adriatic is in Zuljana. On the shore there are findings of Roman origin, probably Ville rusticate. It is possible that its name came from a Latin name of its owner Julianus. It is more likely that the name came after the church of St. Julian, rarely honored patron saint of travelers and lepers. It is mentioned in the written documents from the XII century. Zuljana is a home to about 220 people, self supporting with wine making, growing olives, fishing and tourism industry.  Besides the little church of St. Roko which was built on the foundation of the St. Julian church, there is a chapel of St. Nikola, church of the Lady of Seven Sorrows and the parish church of St. Martin built in the XIII century, and reconstructed in 1961. St. Martin is the patron saint of Zuljana and the St. Martin’s Day, Nov 11, is the traditional wine tasting day.
